A la mise à jour de ce matin, j'ai vu arriver la version 7.0.14 de Boinc.
Et ça crunche...

Noyau toujours à la version 3.2.0.15.

A la mise à jour de ce matin, passage au noyau 3.2.0.17.

J'ai changé l'environnement Unity pour passer sous Gnome Shell. Et ça marche plutôt bien...

Petit "up" pour dire que je tourne avec la Beta 1 depuis quelques jours.
Noyau 3.2.0.18
Boinc 7.0.14

Et ça roule toujours bien.

Changement de noyau (3.2.0.19) et de Boinc Manager (7.0.15) à la mise à jour de ce matin.

J'ai depuis l'arrivée de la Béta 1 des bugs auto détectés que je ne remarque même pas.
Le gestionnaire de rapport de bug se lance en me disant qu'il a trouvé un problème avec tel ou tel paquet (Cups, la dernière fois... ), mais pour moi, c'est transparent.

La version Béta 2 sort dans 10 jours.

Moi pour l'instant, j'utilise l'Ubuntu 12.04 en version Server sur un PC DualCore (serveur maison).
Pour la gestion de l'espace de stockage, j'ai mis mes deux disques durs en RAID1 avec LVM sur un système de fichiers ext4.
Cela me permet notamment de tester la gestion de machine virtuelle par KVM de manière plus souple (grâce à LVM).
J'ai aussi changé de client Bittorrent en passant de rtorrent à transmission-daemon (avec webui) afin d'ajouter un peu de convivialité à tout ça.
Une fois installé, ça devient intéressant à bidouiller.

Hello.

A dix jour de la sortie officielle de la 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin, je donne mes dernières infos.

Le noyau en est à la version 3.2.0-23.
Boinc est quand à lui à la version 7.0.24.
Ce matin, j'ai vu une mise à jour du driver nvidia current à la version 295.40.

Je ne rencontre que très peu de bugs, et toujours auto-détectés par le système de rapport de bugs. Et, la plus part du temps, je ne me rends compte de rien durant l'utilisation.

Je continue de penser que cette mouture va être intéressante, d'autant qu'elle va être suivie durant 5 ans.

Codenamed "Precise Pangolin", 12.04 continues Ubuntu's proud tradition of integrating the latest and greatest open source technologies into a high-quality, easy-to-use Linux distribution. The team has been hard at work through this cycle, introducing a few new features and improving quality control.

To be a bit more precise about what we're releasing today... There are 54 product images and 2 cloud images being shipped with
this 12.04 LTS release, with translations available in 41 languages.

The Ubuntu project's 12.04 archive currently has 39,226 binary packages in it, built from 19,179 source packages, so lots of good starting points for your imagination!

For PC users, Ubuntu 12.04 supports laptops, desktops, and netbooks with a unified look and feel based on an updated version of the desktop shell called "Unity", which introduces "Head-Up Display" search capabilities.

Finding and installing software using the Ubuntu Software Centre is now easier thanks to improvements in speed, search and usability.

Ubuntu Server 12.04 has made it much easier to provision, deploy, host, manage, and orchestrate enterprise data centre infrastructure
services with the introduction of new technologies such as "Metal as a Service" (MAAS), the Juju Charm Store, and the latest OpenStack version, codenamed Essex. These technologies further position Ubuntu Server as the best OS for scale-out computing.
